The last five years have brought a lot of pain, stress, and sadness into my life. There have absolutely been beautiful moments too, but there have also been seasons that have felt very heavy. Somewhere along the way, yoga became one of the places where I could breathe through all of it.

Yoga has given me happiness, strength, peace, and confidence. It has taught me that I don’t have to do everything perfectly. I can wobble.
I can fall. I can laugh at myself, get back up, and try again.

That is a big part of why becoming a yoga teacher means so much to me.

For me, it isn’t only about learning poses or understanding the practice more deeply. I want to be able to give other people even a little of what yoga has given me — that sense of peace, confidence, strength, and connection to yourself.

I’m now two sessions into my yoga teacher training, and already it is everything I hoped it would be and more. The instructors are kind, loving, knowledgeable, and genuinely beautiful people. I feel incredibly lucky to be learning from them.

And I’m loving the people I’m learning alongside too. We aren’t perfect — and I think that’s one of my favorite things about us.

We’re learning together. We’re making mistakes together. We’re figuring things out as we go, and we’re enjoying the process instead of expecting ourselves to already know everything.

One thing this training has introduced me to is journaling, which is part of the reason I wanted to create this space. Journaling is very new to me. Sitting down and putting into words what I’m thinking and feeling doesn’t always come naturally. But maybe that’s part of this journey too — slowing down enough to notice what is happening inside of me.

There are so many layers to yoga, and I feel like I’m only beginning to understand how much there is to learn.

I’m excited for all of it — the physical practice, the philosophy, the history, the breathwork, the challenges, and probably plenty more mistakes along the way.

Most of all, I’m excited for the day when I can share this practice with others and hopefully create a space where someone else can feel what I have felt on my mat:

Although I’ve always loved yoga and would take a class here and there, I don’t think I truly began my practice until I found the Be Love Yoga Studio.

That is where I really fell in love with yoga. At first, I felt completely out of my element. I was clumsy, I fell out of poses, I didn’t know what half of them were called, and honestly, I was intimidated.

I began to notice the peace it brought me. I loved the way my body felt afterward — lighter, freer, less tense.

I didn't have to solve  anything. Take care of anything, or be anywhere else. I could just be there. And in those moments, I felt peaceful. Content
